RAPE CULTURE

We all refer to India and Indian culture as something very diverse and unique. But every state in India has one identical culture. RAPE CULTURE. It's a major issue that we tend to ignore, rather than fight. My aim with this project is that we
openly discuss and tackle this issue.

If I, you and all of us as a society blame the women for a crime like rape, stay away from her, taunt her, try to outcast her out of society and think that she's been dishonoured then in a way we all are supporting the rapist. The condition will only change when we the people of this country are willing to discuss this issue among us.
Most of the cases go unreported because of the societal and family pressure, which also enables the offenders. The moral sense of Indian society seems to have gone wayward
with little regard left for what is right and what is wrong.

India is a country with high rates of teenage pregnancies and sexual abuse, one would think that the need for a curriculum focusing on gender equality, the importance of consent, and boundaries.  There is a ban on Adolescence Education Programme in at least five states across India, and there is no uniformity
in the way the subject is approached.

The rates of sexual violence against women are high and discriminatory
attitudes towards women persist. For a meaningful social change,
reaching out to boys and girls on issues like consent
 and gender equality becomes critical.

Short skirts don't rape. Rapists rape.
Drunken cosent is not consent
Going out is not consent
Still not a consent
Men gets raped. Kids get raped. Were their tits showing too?

Our rape culture can be changed when we stop accusing women who wear revealing clothes as attention seekers. When we stop victim blaming. When we start leaving women dress how they like without comment. When we start applauding women on their body confidence. When we start supporting gender equality.
When we start blaming the rapist.

The problem is big. The attitudes are small. The change starts with you.
